Day 2 Festival (December 5, 2008)


DAY 2)

The activities began after midday, with the graffiti artists of national and invited preparing the wall for the production .

This opened the possibility for Hip Hop artists in the region engage in a dialogue about his artwork and the status of the movement in each countries of the isthmus, by highlighting the undeniable contribution this lifestyle is for youth in Central America. Searching for common ground, and the strengths and weaknesses facing to strengthen and grow.

the bases for it begins to become an American Movement of Hip Hop.

This activity took 6 speakers (1 per country) and about 50 attendees including local artists and guests and people outside the movement who showed interest in everything that is happening with Hip Hop and alternative form of expression, communication and cohabitation that young people have found in it.


In the evening the same day a party was held at La Bodeguita del center to welcome the guests and so led the activities of this second day of festival.

Festival Day 1 (December 4, 2008)






In Guatemala City, from 4 to 7 December 2008, made the first American festival of Hip Hop "Hip Hop Union."

For such activity was with the participation of 35 artists and activists from sister countries of El Salvador, Honduras, Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Panama, as well as about 100 local artists.





December 4th Day activities kicked off as they had planned an exhibition of graffiti, street poetry group concert in Guatemala and projection documentary "Scratch" which shows the origins of hip hop through interviews and music sessions with some of Hip Hop DJs most important in the world.

This activity was attended by about 200 young men and women who also witnessed the artistic activities which inaugurated the festival, they welcomed the brothers American who came to participate in it. Starting from already coexistence and exchange of ideas and experiences that this type of event can generate, particularly among young people from countries with similar stories and situations that are in this artistic movement and youth force cohesion to break bars and overcome borders, building on the Hip Hop one Central American nation.
